Erectile dysfunction in men as they get older is very common but growing old is not always going to be a cause of erectile dysfunction.  Some men stay sexually functional with no problems into their 89s.  The definition of erectile dysfunction is when a man can’t get or maintain an erection for sexual intercourse.  A normal erection works during sexual arousal, nerves release chemicals in the penis that increase blood flow into the penis. For best results men take these pills about an hour or two before sexual intercourse.  For these drugs to work they require normal nerve functions in the penis.  Statistics show that about seven out of ten men will do well and have a better erection while using one of these drugs.  Men who are taking nitrates for their heart should not take any PDE5 inhibitors.  The most common side effects of the PDE5 inhibitors include headache, muscle aches, stuffy nose and indigestion. If medical treatments don’t work as well hoped the man should see his physician As there are many options.

 Changing the dosage or the type of drug is very common. Reviewing the instructions on using the medication may be gone over again which could lead to a missing step or not taking the medication as directed. Erectile dysfunction is very easily treatable and if one treatment doesn’t work right away The man should remember not to give up as here are many options.
