Propecia: could it be the cure all balding men have been looking for?
There is an epidemic going on in Australia and it has been going on for quite some time now. I am referring to none other than the life changing event we call hair loss. Male pattern hair loss is something that tends to creep into the life of men across the world around their late 20s and early 30s. Going from a rockstar mullet to the island style balding of George Jefferson is enough to make any man want to quit at life or join a baseball team so that he can wear a cap all day. But, there is good news. Before you go cutting it all off and becoming the second coming of Mr. Clean, there is a solution that entered the market not too long ago. The name of said solution is Propecia.
Male pattern baldness
Propecia is one of the most popular treatments for androgenic alopecia, most commonly known as male pattern hair loss, and it plants a seed in the scalp of men to resurrect the follicles and restore the confidence. The main target of Propecia is men who are experience mild versions of baldness. If it is beginning to get a little light at the top and you are in need of a solution, Propecia was built solely for that purpose. It is a pill that can be taken to begin the curing process for probably the biggest fear of most men in regards to physical appearance; baldness. So, how does it work? Before we get to that, let’s talk about Alopecia so you have a better understanding.
Androgenic alopecia is the condition that causes the male pattern baldness. Its the proud owner of the infamous receding hairline and the balding the appears in the middle of the head of some men. The reason for this has to do with DHT levels. This is where Propecia steps into the picture.
Propecia is responsible for decreasing the amount of DHT that exist in the scalp. DHT is the thing that is causing the hair to thin out and eventually stop growing all together. When Propecia decreases the DHT levels, the process of balding makes a turn at the intersection and sends you back home to the hairy mountains of which you desire. As for as doses go, It is suggested that you take one Propecia tablet a day. If the doctor feels that you need more, instead of increasing the daily dosage, you will just have to take it for a longer period of time. That should be more than enough along with intaking regular nutrients with a healthy diet. There are, however, some side effects to using this drug so I will speak about that in depth now.
Rare side effects
There have been reports of infertility in Men who use finasteride, or Propecia, for a long period of time. Its important to know that it only affected Men who already had other issues that may affect infertility. Propecia has just shown signs of increasing the amount of infertility issues in these men who had pre-existing symptoms. Another problem that has occurred in some is mood swings. Alterations in the mood and signs of depression are problem the most problematic of the symptoms that can occur. Although less often, some men have reported having suicidal thoughts while taking Propecia as a medication. Some other problems that might creep a man’s way include allergic reactions such as swelling and trouble breathing.
With all that being said, you should stop the usage of Propecia and see a doctor as soon as possible to get to the bottom of what is causing this conditions for you.
So, there you have it. Of course, no drug that enters the market is going to be perfect. All of them have their pros and cons. But, the good thing about Propecia is that the cons occur rarely, yet the positive results have occurred enough to keep the drug in the market. Its important to look at your circumstances and figure out if this pill is right for you. It can be prescribed by a doctor pretty easily and it has helped many men already. See? It’s not the end of the world. You just have to keep your head up and get to the root of the issue.

How Hair Loss Is Treated And Reversed
Hair loss in men is quite the common thing. More men than women loose their hair, of course. Some men loose their hair at a young age. There are some ways to prevent hair loss in men. These are not always a cure however but you might want to look into them if you want to try to escape from losing much hair in the future or try to regain some hair back. You want to check with your doctor about why you might be losing hair, first and foremost, and then discuss the options with him or her. That way you can be sure to reach a healthy decision about how to regain your hair back if that is possible. The following ways are also worth the try.
Research Your Medications
Make sure some of your medications are not causing the hair loss. For examples things like Chemo is bound to cause some hair loss in men and women both. If you can’t stop the treatment of Chemo then wait awhile and see if the hair grows back after use. Other medications can also cause hair loss such a blood thinners and medications for gout. Ask your doctor what the side effects to all of your medications are and decide before using.
Increase Biotin Intake
Biotin is a good source of vitamin. It is found in foods such as oatmeal, eggs, various types of nuts and sweet potatoes and onions. If your diet is low in those kind of foods you might want to change it up. The other option is taking an over the counter Biotin vitamin pill but food sources are significantly better for you in this regard.
Get Rid of Stress
No one needs stress in their life. Ways to prevent hair loss is often all about reducing the stress you are experiencing. Relax, take a vacation, just do something that makes you feel less anxious. It can be overwhelming to feel so stressed, therefore it effects you by making hair fall out. You want to really literally get away from what is bothering you whenever possible. Stress relief can be difficult so looking into what is stressing you out and ridding of the source would be ideal.
Massage Your Head Follies
Hair needs to stimulated for growth purposes. Your head is filled with many hair follicles. These follicles are what makes your hair grow. A massage is very much a feel good remedy to make your both relaxed and perhaps make your hair grow easier. Get someone to massage your hair for you or you can do it yourself with ease. Just lying in bed or watching TV and massaging the head is wonderful. Try it for just 5 minutes for day for at least 6 months and see the differences with how much thicker your hair feels. Its like a vacation for your scalp.
Try Essentials Oils And Shampooing Differently
Never rule out essential oils even you are a man. They do work. One or two of them that I especially recommend are rosemary oil and peppermint oils. Rinse your hair just with either one of them after a shampoo. Add a few drops to a cup of water, and then pour over your hair or head after the shampoo is all rinsed out. No need to rinse out the oils, but if you prefer you can do that if you want. I really do recommend the rosemary oil especially because it will stimulate your hair follicle growth from my own experience of using it. And it smells so good, no one will think your are using your girlfriend’s or wife’s hair products. They will just think you came in from the garden. It might take a few or so weeks but you will notice a difference. I try not to use shampoos with paraben in it, and use keratin shampoo instead.
Keratin repairs hair at least which will keep it from failing out easier. If all else fails use a paste of baking soda and water.
Diet Changes Are Excellent
You might want to make some changes with your diet. I always think that most people are eating too much sugar for example and then wonder why they have thinning hair. The sugar is what causes the problem, then the sugar causes mood swings that enhances the stress factors. You want to avoid all of that, it’s not good for you. Plus, adding foods rich in omega three is wonderful but you do want to get the right ratio of the omegas in order for this to work properly. Iron and protein are well known to prevent hair loss. Hair is made of a lot of protein itself, making it essential to acquire adequate protein daily. Iron just strengthens the hair which is also a good idea to use to protect what hair you have and not loose so much of it later. Too much iron is not good. Men just need 8 milligrams per day.
The other things you can do is laser treatment, drugs, transplants, and that sort of thing. But I highly recommend going to natural route before digging into those things. It seems safer and more natural. One other natural thing you can do is to stop smoking. That is bad for many health woes, and smoking is one of them. Avoiding it altogether is even smarter, never try something you think could be dangerous down the road for anything.
